Quick Navigation
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, shared, and protected when you use the TradoCademy website and platform (together, the “Website”). Personal data is processed in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (“NDPA”), as administered by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (“NDPC”), together with any subsidiary regulations issued thereunder.
Data controller:
- Webmedia Technology Catalysts
- Registration No: 2855464
- Legal form: Business Name registered in Nigeria
- Registered office: 39 Opebi Road, Ikeja, Opebi, Lagos, Nigeria
- Represented by Managing Director Kelechi Ehibudu
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data needed to operate the Website and provide our products:
- Account data — name, username, email address, phone number (optional), and your password, which is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form.
- Billing data — your subscription plan, amounts paid, subscription period and status, and payment references issued by our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number (see Payments).
- Contact messages — the name, email address, subject, and message you submit through the contact form.
- Newsletter data — the email address you subscribe with.
- Affiliate data — where you join the affiliate programme: your referral code, referral history, and the payout details you provide (bank name, account number, and account name) so that commissions can be paid to you.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device information (user agent), and session activity, collected automatically for security and to keep you signed in.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process personal data on the following legal bases under the NDPA:
- Performance of a contract — creating and managing your account, delivering purchased content and subscriptions, processing payments, and paying affiliate commissions.
- Consent — sending the newsletter and other marketing communications, and any non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time (e.g. by unsubscribing from the newsletter).
- Legitimate interests — securing the Website, preventing fraud and abuse, responding to enquiries, and improving our products.
- Legal obligation — keeping accounting, tax, and transaction records that we are required by law to retain.
4. Payments
Card payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, SeerBit. Your card details are entered on and processed by SeerBit’s secure systems — TradoCademy never receives or stores your full card number or CVV. We store only the transaction references, subscription identifiers, and, for recurring subscriptions, a payment token issued by SeerBit that allows renewals to be charged without re-entering card details. SeerBit’s processing of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
- Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised when the account is closed, except where longer retention is required by law.
- Billing and transaction records are kept for the periods required by Nigerian tax and accounting law.
- Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and are then deleted.
- Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed password storage, and access controls limiting personal data to authorised personnel. In the event of a personal data breach affecting your rights, we will notify the NDPC and affected Users as required by the NDPA.
9. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data;
- request restriction of, or object to, processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) — ndpc.gov.ng.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact form. We respond within the timelines prescribed by the NDPA.
10. International Transfers
Some of our service providers (for example Discord, TradingView, or hosting and email providers) may process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, we do so in accordance with the cross-border transfer requirements of the NDPA, ensuring an adequate level of protection or appropriate safeguards.
11. Age Requirement
The Website is intended for persons who are at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on the Website with its “last updated” date. Where a change materially affects how your data is processed, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance and, where required by law, seek renewed consent.
13. Contact
For any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your personal data is handled, contact TradoCademy via the contact form published on the Website.
